Best Drinking Water

Question:
My granpa's farm has a an old stone lined well that is fed by a very cold spring that produces some of the best drinking water that I've had. The water where I live is high in iron, some heavy metals and is poor tasting. Since I visit my granpa's place about once every two weeks, I am considering regularly bringing water back for drinking. My question is: Has anyone done this sort of thing before? I'm guessing that to make it practical, I would need to buy one of those water coolers that you see at some offices, along with those large bottles. I am clueless as to whether these things are even sold at a retail level, and whether those bottles are available either

Answer: I prefer to use the heavier duty 1 gallon water jugs, they last and no discernable taste in water which has been stored in them for quite some time under a variety of temps and conditions. The juice bottles are likewise nice but so few are 1 gallon in size and when they are 1 gallon they are usually space wasters in design, whereas the heavier duty water jugs use space very effeciently. What I do, is I have a 1 gallon sun tea jar in my fridge that I refill from the jugs, so I get the best use of space in the fridge while still making the best storage... I don't need to store water anymore, but I still do JIC
