Question:
I have a five month old baby, since birth he has been on formula. I have always boiled shop bought bottled water, i'm wondering if it is still neccesary to boil the bottled water?

Answer: Distilled water generally does not contain *any* minerals and can cause severe malnutrition by absorbing the minerals before the baby's body can. You are better off buying mineral water if the tap water is not OK. Boiling just kills the most dangerous germs without removing essential minerals.

Don't worry, the occasional use won't harm your baby, but I don't think you should use it on a permanent basis.

It's been a while since we were in this stage but I remember using distilled water, too, but also willing mixed Crystal Springs/Evian/Alhambra without any dire affects. Except for Spawn's dual horns, there's never been anything to warrant our additional worry towards each daughter-units' formula intake.
