Question: The water on the ship hinted of the taste like the tank was filled with a rubber hose. Shades of Victory. But not always. Go figure, but not the coffee, it was good, strong and all over the ship. You are never far from coffee, lemon aid, apple juice or water on these ships. Bottled water was $3.84 for a large bottle and my wife used it exclusively. is it right?
Answer: It had a couch, dressing table with stool, fresh ice and bottled water. New color TV that had movies at timed intervals (good), and ship board stuff and during the cruise a variety of goings on ,ie hairy chest contest, etc, last night's show, and a variety of network channels depending on where on earth you are. The TV was fine during most of the trip and we only lost the networks at sea intermittently. The satellite TV service in this day and age could have been better. That was the case last year on the Victory too. CCL really needs to work on the TV service. I know, I know, I didn't come on the cruise to watch TV, but I do enjoy the national news and also wanted to watch Survivor. Our Steward, Michael from somewhere in South America, was great. He was always at our beck and call, the room was kept immaculate, there was always bottled water when needed, and the usual towel animals at bed turn down time. He was well tipped at cruise end for his smiling service and attentiveness. Speaking of tipping, CCL now charges your account the recommended tips for the Room Steward/ess, Waiter, and Asst Waiter. I like that idea, and still added an envelope with a little extra at cruise end. The nice part was not worrying about keeping enough cash for tips. The ability to add some at the end made it more personal. Good idea CCL.
