Question: Has anyone drank tap water while in Southern California ( Palm Springs) and surrounding areas, as well as in Scottsdale and Flagstaff Arizona? I will be there on the 1st of Augt. Or is it better to buy bottled water instead? I am not looking to get sick again like I did in Mexico 2 years ago! Is tap water safe? Please e-mail me. I need the advice and suggestions
Answer: Of course the tap water is safe, the federal government says so. This is, however, quite a different question as to whether or not the tap water in these areas tastes okay. I haven't been to the SW so I can't say, but in some areas of Florida, for example, the water is perfectly healthy, but it reaks of rotten egg smell from sulfer in the water so its not drinkable by people who find that sulfer taste unappetising. My recommendation: Since you already had a poor experience, drink bottled water while your here and in Arizona. Bottled water is the "in" thing, and you can find it *everywhere,* including liqur stores, markets and the like. Have a great trip.
