Question: I am looking for water filter replacement for my Frigidaire fridge. Very difficult to find in local store. Can anyone recommend reliable online stores who sell this filter cheap?
Answer: I have InstaPure by Teledyne. They are well made and come in a variety of configurations. Depending on where you can get to the water line, the in-line types are cheaper than using the faucet types. In my house, I have access to the water line below the kitchen. I cut the line, inserted the filter housing with the fittings supplied, and it serves the kitchen cold water and the refrigerator ice maker/water dispenser. Total time to install can be fifteen minutes. I use a charcoal filter with a sediment filter combo for about $9 every three months or so. Changing the element is only a few minutes also. Turn off the filter on top, unscrew the cartridge holder, take out the old, put in the new, put a little petroleum jelly on the gasket, replace and turn on. Less than five minutes. You will enjoy drinking everything much better, Coffee, tea, bourbon, soups, and even Scotch will taste better.
