Question: My BUN and Creatinine levels were elevated the last time I went for a check-up and the doc was worried about kidney failure until I told him I was drinking way too many diet colas and not enough water, so I wanna know if it's okay if I drink Perrier or something with some fizz to it and let that be my 6-8 glasses of water a day?
Answer: I used to be in the "anything I drink counts toward my daily liquid requirement." Now I'm more from the "drink your damn water and shut the hell up, Wayne" school. I just do better if I get 80 or moe oz of water. Maybe it is the way it helps with the salt or something. I do think that seltzer should count towards water consumption as there is no additional digestive process required to process it beyond what is required for water. drink a carbonated water from Walmart. It has no carbs. Some sodem. But otherwise as far as I know it is water. It also comes in flavors. But still water. The black cherry tastes dam good. What was weird. Is I still have one diet Mountain dew a day with dinner. But do about 5 liters of water a day. Well last nite I had a diet pepsi with dinner and it just tasted horrible.
