Is Bottled Water Better Than Tap Water

Answer: "nalgenes" are designed for hiking, where if you lose water, you may just be screwed. As long as the bottle is clean, putting water in there and sealing it off is fine - I don't feel like having one leak all over my backpack, and then when I go to get a drink, find it empty.

BTW, Nalgene is the company, they make a lot of containers of all sorts for both consumer and chemical use. The standard, grey-tinted bottles you see are made of Lexan, the same stuff they use for extreme-conditions boat windows (think north sea fishing), among other things. You'll sometimes see more flexible white ones, made of HDPE (high density polyethylene). Either way, great bottles.

i get spring water from the local bj's/ sams club and i wont go back to tap water. I can even taste the dif. in ice cubes from my fridge downstairs that are made with tap water. I am not sure as i have a water cooler in my bedroom but it could be that it comes out nice and cold vs tap water.

Even though your question is about BOTTLED WATER, there's no reason to bash you. Just thought I'd make that point known, b/c some people around here seem to think that there is a topic restriction in this website.

And as for my commentary on bottled water, well, it's easier. I would like to buy a water bottle to carry around (you know what I mean, those Nalgene-type things) but I continually forget. But I always need water, so I buy the bottle. It works for the day, at least.
