Question:
Does anyone know what makes the water taste like `metalic` is the only wayto describe it, I have read here somewhere,Is it the filter that gives it this taste? I have used puriclean andfollowed directions to the book, we have had older vans` with no filter andnever had this problem.........the water is undrinkable, even when boiled ittaste aweful, when taken direct from the stand pipe it taste`s perfect.

Answer: I've had it on vans that had a filter and in vans that did not have afilter, the filter seems to make no difference at all. However, I canalways get rid of it by filling my Aquaroll up with a puriclensmixture and leaving it overnight, then pumping the solution into thecaravan and leaving for several hours and then rinsing the whole lotthrough with about 4 barrels of water. Mind you I've got fed up withdoing that so now have a 1 gallon fresh water bottle that we keepclean and fresh and drink only the water that we keep in there,changing it daily.

I know that he but simply replacing the filter makes no differenceto the problems with water that have been described, Mind you it isadvisable to removethe filter whilst doing it or to replace it afterthe job has been done.

i had this happen with our '82 Monza, the water tasted disgusting, and notmatter what we did to try and combat the taste, it never went away. In theend I changed the plastic pipe work throughout the caravan, took about threehours and cost about Ј25. You don't need to change the fittings, these canbe cleaned with warm soapy water and a bottle brush.After I had completed the job, I looked at the pipe work and noticed thatthe clear pipe had a green tint to it, I cut a small section out the lengththat ran across the middle of the 'van and then cut down its length to havea look inside. Algae was present around the inside diameter of the pipe,hence the nasty taste I presume.
