Question:
Just getting into espresso making, and I've been told that the water
is a major factor in the quality of what you get out. I've been told
that the best way to go is bottled water.. and I've been told that
filtering will do the trick. What do the experts say?
Answer:
I use a Brita filtered water for all my coffee & espresso. It tastes better
than plain tap water, and seems to give me a better and stronger coffee
flavor compared with tap water. I haven't tried distilled water, but I've
heard others say that it tastes lousy. I seem to remember reading something
about some espresso machines not working properly with distilled water, but
I don't remember any details about that.
