Question: I'm looking for information on under the counter drinking waterfilter/purifiers.Does anyone have any that they recommend? The ones I'm looking at right now are Culligan RO system (good water machine)Omni deluxe 4 stage (RO2000)Nikken Pimag system Can anyone recommend or rule out any of the above? (or anything that youknow about)
Answer: I got a whole-house filter ( $29.95 ? LOWES ? )and installed it in the cold-water line under the kitchen sink. Since the filter inserts are standard size, you can buy the onethat solves your problem. ( I use a charcoal filter )andThey have enough capacity that I only replace itevery six months. I bought a cheap RO system produced great water for a short time, and alwayshas had low pressure coming out of tap and refrigerator. I have replaced allfilters and water still tastes much better than tap, but not as good as thefirst month or so for some reason. The low pressure is very annoying. I haveplayed with the air pressure in the tank, but can't seem to get it flowingwell. Anyway, I live in an area with hard water. Lot of green and whitebuildup all the time. The water tasted like garbage. It's city water.
