Question: My question: I use a Brita water pitcher w/replaceable charcoalfilters. In the last month or two, I notice green algae collecting inbottom of pitcher after only a few days. Does this have to do with the water itself? Or is it a function of warmer weather. (Santa Monica, adjacent LA.)
Answer: I live in MN, where it has been very hot lately, but I've never seen thealgae problem? We you say "after only a few days" are you talking aboutthe age of the filter or how long the water has been standing? There is an800 number for Brita, (which I think is owned by Clorox). I used it onceto get a new lid after I dropped mine. They sent it out free. If you canfind that number, maybe on your cartridge package (?), I'd give them acall. They are on the Pacific coast somewhere.
