Well water purification before or after pressure tank?

Answer: I have mine before the pressure tank. I have a high iron content which would clog up my compressor. I went with the Culligan HD950 whole house filter it is by far the best filter out there. My water is blood red without the filter. And to be honest any one who tells you to put it on before the pressure tank would have to actually test the water to determine what your purifying. If you have high levels of sulfur iron or other material, you run a risk of damageing your pressure tank. your water softner should be after the pressure tank to soften the water before useThe well pump should feed to the pressure tank and then the pressure control switch. After this comes the treatment system.
